All About BADCo and How to Join

BADCo is an independent Gloucester based amateur dramatic group specialising in family pantomimes!  The name derives from our previous incarnation as a section of the EDF Energy Sports & Social club based at the old EDF office in Barnwood, hence we were known as  the Barnwood Amateur Dramatics Company -aka BADCo.  Following EDF’s move to new premises, BADCo have been peforming at St Barnabas Church Hall and have been an independant organisation since 1st October 2023.  Like all the coolest acts, we now just go by one name – BADCo!  BADCo has been running for over 25 years and has donated all our profit from our productions to charity. To date we have raised well over £20000 for charities across the years

We always welcome new members to join us, whether on stage or behind the scenes – contact us at badcogroup@yahoo.com for more info.

How to get involved:-

BADCo pantomimes are staged in February every year, with rehearsals starting from September onwards.  If you are interested in joining the cast, you should come to one of the initial meetings or script readings or contact us in early September expressing an interest.  New crew members can join any time between September and February, along with anyone interested in helping with music, costumes etc.  Front of House helpers are also always needed for the show nights.  Interest from potential new members is also welcomed throughout the year – there are sometimes events and activities held over the summer, in between shows.  Junior members are welcome to join BADCo with a participating adult!

BADCo is a fully constituted membership organisation and if you join us then you will be asked to pay the membership fee for that year and to confirm acceptance of our code of conduct and other policies.  All details of fees and the relevant documents will be supplied when you request to join.

BADCo – We won’t turn a drama into a crisis!
